New Castle County Police say a police dog helped corner a burglary suspect inside the Claymont home.
It happened about 7:35 a.m. Friday on Causez Avenue. Police say a relative of the resident had gone into the home and found a man asleep on a bedroom floor.
The relative left and called police. Authorities say an officer and his dog searched the home and the dug found a man hiding under a bed. Police say the man was taken into custody after a brief struggle.
Twenty-one-year-old Joseph Alcaraz of Wilmington was charged with burglary and other offenses.
