Police Chief Allegedly Stalked, Harassed Girlfriend

A northeastern Pennsylvania court has granted a protection-from-abuse order against a police chief accused of stalking and harassing his police officer ex-girlfriend.

WNEP-TV reports the ruling Friday in Columbia County Court says Millville police Chief Ted Stout must stay away from his former girlfriend and he must not carry a gun for a year and a half.

He is currently suspended without pay.

Stout is the only full-time officer in Millville.  Mayor Jerry Wright says part-timers are filling the void for now.

The mayor says any further action on Stout's job status will have to come at a borough council meeting.  The next scheduled meeting is Aug. 19.
