Police Chase Man in Stolen Car Through North Philadelphia

A man driving a stolen car led police on a chase through sections of North Philadelphia Friday night.

The red Pontiac Aztec fled from police just before 8 p.m., officials said.

The car traveled through parts of North Philadelphia and then Kensington at relatively slow speeds -- hitting a sign and jumping the curb on a few occasions.

The driver eventually parked the car, got out and started walking away.

SkyForce10 and Philadelphia Police's Tactical Air Unit tracked the heavyset man, who was wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans, as he casually walked along a Kensington street.

Police then caught up to the man who surrendered immediately without issue. He was placed in handcuffs around 8:30 p.m. and led to a police wagon.
