Police Car Crashes Into Hair Salon

A police car slammed into a Southwest Philadelphia hair salon Friday night.

Authorities say the police cruiser was traveling westbound on Buist Avenue, when a vehicle attempted to make a U-turn in front of the police car. The officer swerved to avoid the vehicle and ran into a building at the corner of Buist and Massey Street.

The building was occupied at the time, police said.

There were two officers inside the cruiser. Both were taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania to be treated for minor injuries.

No injuries to any civilians inside the building, police confirm.

No charges have been filed, but the investigation continues.
