Police Capture Burglar With 23 Prior Convictions: Cops

Wilmington Police say they arrested a serial burglar with a lengthy criminal history.

Officers responded to a vacant home on the 1400 block of W. 8th Street in Wilmington Saturday morning after receiving a 911 call for a burglary in progress.

When police arrived, they say they saw a broken window and a man later identified as Kenneth Gould, 65, inside the house. Gould had burglary tools in his possession, according to investigators.

Police say an investigation later revealed Gould had outstanding burglary warrants and 23 prior convictions for burglary, trespass, theft and receiving stolen property.

He was committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $13,200 secured bond and $5000 cash bail.
