An 18-year-old has been arrested following a carjacking and police chase, according to Delaware State Police.
State Police say that a woman was sitting in her car Friday in the parking lot of BJ's Wholesale Club in Newark when she was approached by Joshua D. McGriff who asked to use her cell phone. The woman agreed but the teen did not return the phone after making a call.
Police say that when the victim grabbed the suspect he implied that he was armed, took her keys and drove away in her car. State Police say they were called, located the vehicle and gave chase for about 25 minutes before the vehicle became involved in a crash in Elkton, Md.
