Thousands Worth of Stolen Goods Recovered

New Castle County Police have recovered thousands of dollars worth of stolen watches, jewelry, phones, laptops and cameras.

The items were recovered after Detective Eric Godwin arrested Amara Gumaneh, 19, and Kessellee Kanda, 20, for allegedly stealing the goods over the past four months, targeting homes in various communities in the greater Newark area.

“Detective Godwin was on an unrelated complaint at a local jewelry store and came upon a stolen ring which at the time he investigated,” said New Castle County Police Officer John Weglarz.

“It was pawned and reported stolen. From that he had gone and done another investigation and wound up arresting two individuals.”

The items were displayed Wednesday night at the Paul J Sweeney Public Safety Building in New Castle, Delaware from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Robbery victims who were unable to attend the display can contact the New Castle County Police at 302 395 8110 to reclaim their possessions.
