Police Arrest Alleged Female Bank Robber

Police say they arrested the woman after she committed her fourth bank robbery within the past few weeks. They also arrested a man who they say was connected to the latest robbery.

Police arrested a Delaware woman who they say committed several bank robberies within the past few weeks.

On Wednesday, police say Victoria Ludwig, 37, of Wilmington entered the PNC Bank inside the Super G Food Market on the 4300 block of Concord Pike in Wilmington. Ludwig allegedly approached the teller and presented a note demanding money, implying that she had a gun. Police say the teller complied and Ludwig fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

A short time later, investigators say a Trooper spotted a car that matched the description of a vehicle observed leaving the scene of the robbery. Troopers stopped the vehicle on Lancaster Pike near the Lancaster Court Apartments. Police say Ludwig as well as Keith Whitaker Jr., 28, of Wilmington were inside the car.

Police connected Ludwig and Whitaker to Wednesday’s robbery. They also say Ludwig was responsible for three previous bank robberies inside supermarkets on April 5, April 4 and March 24.

Both Ludwig and Whitaker Jr. are charged with robbery and other related offenses. Ludwig was committed to the Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $123,500 secured bond. Whitaker Jr. was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $26,000 secured bond.
