A man was struck and killed by a pickup truck while he was crossing a Bucks County road Sunday afternoon.
The 59-year-old man was crossing the street at Swamp Road and Campbell Avenue in Plumstead Township. A vehicle slowed down so that the man could cross, police said. As he was walking, a white pickup truck tried to go around the vehicle that slowed down and struck the man, according to investigators.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not yet revealed his identity. The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene.
Both east and west lanes on Route 313 were shutdown between the 611 Bypass and Main Street due to the accident. The road was later reopened.
