Cab Catches Fire on Bridge From Philadelphia Airport

A taxicab caught fire on a Philadelphia bridge that connects the city to the airport overnight causing traffic to turn around.

The blaze broke out around 1:30 a.m. along the Platt Bridge in Southwest Philadelphia. The route is a popular one with people coming from Philadelphia International Airport.

The cab caught fire along the mid-span of the bridge. Luckily the driver made it out OK and no one was hurt.

As crews worked to clear the scene, traffic was directed off the bridge the wrong way.

No word yet on a cause for the car fire.
