Pipe Helps Save 2 Women From Drowning

The Deputy Fire Chief in Atlantic City says it appears the women went swimming after lifeguards went off-duty.

Firefighters rescued two women who grabbed onto an outfall pipe about 30 yards off the Atlantic City coast.

Deputy Fire Chief Vincent Granese tells The Press of Atlantic City
it appeared the women were swimming after lifeguards went off duty Sunday when they got caught in a current. The woman held onto the pipe.
 
A firefighter injured his foot while helping to get the women off the pipe.
