Will Hook, a.k.a. James "Pooh" Wilson and Keith Epps, turned himself into police Monday, though he denies all involvement in the burglary and double murder at Piazza at Schmidt's June 27.
The man suspected of being the mastermind behind the robbery and double murder at Piazza at Schmidt’s turned himself into police Monday evening.
Will Hook, 40, also known as James “Pooh” Wilson and Keith Epps, was charged with burglary after willingly surrendering to Philadelphia police.
Hook’s attorney, Christopher Warren, revealed hook’s real name Monday and said that Hook denies all involvement in the case.
Hook is one of three men wanted by police for the June 27 shootings of Rian Thal and Timothy Gilmore. The two were killed in the hallway outside Thal's seventh floor condo at The Navona at Schmidt's. Investigators found four kilos of cocaine and more than $100,000 in cash inside the apartment.
Surveillance video captured the entire crime from when the suspects entered the building to the shootings and even a friend of the victims leaving Thal's apartment after the murders.
Authorities believe Hook broke down the door of an empty, sixth floor condo, thinking it was Thal's, about 12 hours before the shootings, police told Philly.com.
Police have already arrested Robert Keith, 27, on charges of burglary and Kayota Jones, 25, with murder and related charges. Jones lived on the second floor of the Navona Building and was an on-and-off girlfriend of Hook. Authorities are also looking for Donnell Murchinson, 32, for allegedly firing the shots that killed Thal, 40, and Gilmore, 41.
Authorities described Hook as an up-and-comer in the drug scene. His lawyer denied that label to Philly.com.
