Philly Parochial Schools Say “No” to Closing Schools for Parade

Catholic schools won't close for Phillies win

It looks like Catholic school students will need to play hookie if they plan on attending a Phillies championship parade.

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia is sharing in Phillies Phever but not letting it interrupt classes.

Philadelphia catholic schools won't close even if the Phillies have a championship parade, according to an Archdiocese release.

"We join with the Phillies and the City of Philadelphia in celebrating this special victory...schools will celebrate this event in their own individual ways... within the context of a regular school day." said Superintendent Mary E. Rochford.
