Philly is Part of Group Awarding $532K Bike Share Grant

Philadelphia, a leading member of the Better Bike Share Partnership, has joined in awarding a $532,000 grant to nine cities across the country for more equitable bike sharing.

The city is known to have one of the best bike share programs in the United States after Indego turned a year old last month. Indego recently added 300 upgraded bicycles, 24 docking stations, and an improved mobile app. The city helped to secure the funding from The JPB Foundation, a qualify-of-like enhancement nonprofit.

โ€œWeโ€™re excited that this funding will enable nine cities to become innovators in this field,โ€ said Carniesha Kwashie, the grant manager with Philadelphiaโ€™s Office of Transportation and Infrastructure Systems and the Better Bike Share Partnership administrator.
