The state Department of Education has barred teachers in Philadelphia and Hazleton from administering standardized tests to their own students while it investigates possible cheating in both districts.
State officials say monitors will also sit in on the upcoming Pennsylvania System of School Assessment tests.
Education officials say they recommend schools keep teachers from administering their own students' tests but it's now a requirement in Philadelphia, Hazleton and at four other charter schools.
The state began probing test results from districts across the state after they were flagged for suspicious scores on the annual exams. More than 20 districts have been cleared of wrongdoing but the investigation is continuing.
The math and reading PSSA tests are scheduled to begin March 12 with writing and science tests next month.
