All schools in the Philadelphia School District and the Camden City Public School district will close early today at 1:30 p.m. due to extreme heat and humidity.
The District made the announcement in a released statement. According to the National Weather Service, the high temperatures and humidity could potentially cause heat illness.
Routine transportation will occur for Philly students after the 1:30 dismissal.
A heat advisory is in effect for the area until 8 p.m.
