Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill says a traffic stop that caused him to miss his album launch party appeared to be racially motivated.
The 26-year-old Mill, whose real name is Robert Williams, testified Monday in his civil rights lawsuit against Philadelphia police.
The Philadelphia Daily News reports that Mill says he and his companions were detained on Halloween night 2012 for about 10 hours.
Mill says that police claimed to smell marijuana, but no drugs were found and no charges filed. He believes they were detained because they were all black men.
A lawyer for the city told jurors Monday that they were stopped because of the darkly-tinted windows on their Range Rover.
Mill says he missed a flight to Atlanta to celebrate his debut album, ``Dreams & Nightmares.''
