Alleged Philly Mob Boss, Associates in Court

The men were arrested and charged with running illegal gambling operations and engaging in loan sharking.

The reputed boss of the Philadelphia mob and two others are scheduled for bail hearings in federal court.

Prosecutors said in an indictment unsealed this week that alleged mob boss Joseph "Uncle Joe" Ligambi, reputed underboss Joseph "Mousie" Massimino and others ran illegal gambling operations and engaged in loan sharking.

Ligambi, Massimino and a third alleged associate are scheduled for bail hearings at 1:30 p.m. Thursday before a federal judge in Philadelphia.

Ligambi pleaded not guilty during an initial appearance Monday. Massimino said in court that day that he didn't yet have an attorney and he has not entered a plea.
