A motorcyclist from Pennsylvania was killed, and his passenger was injured, in an accident in rural western Louisiana.

Louisiana state police say the accident in Vernon Parish happened Friday around 1:50 p.m. when 44-year-old Eric N. Brown of Philadelphia lost control of the Yamaha motorcycle he was driving on Louisiana Highway 1146.

The motorcycle ran off the highway. Brown and 52-year-old Wanda Flecha-Ramos, also of Philadelphia, were ejected.

Both wore helmets but Brown was killed and Flecha-Ramos was seriously hurt. She was taken to Rapides Regional Trauma Center for treatment.
