Philadelphia Police arrested a son for allegedly strangling his elderly mother early Tuesday morning in her Juniata Park home.

Police responded to the 4200 block of Malta Street at about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday to find 81-year-old Margaret Ashby choked to death. Her son James Ashby is suspected in the case.

James, 57, is charged with murder and possession of an instrument of crime.

It wasn't clear the exact way Margaret was choked.
