Philadelphia Police Warn Not to Play the “Game of Cones”

The Philadelphia Police Department is reminding residents that the "No Savies" rule is in effect today's snowfall -- and any other.

City residents have a history of saving parking spaces with cones or folding chairs after digging them out, but police maintain that the practice will not be tolerated.

The Philly Police social media team continues to remind residents of the rules with comedic posts including one to Facebook entitled "A Song of Ice and Parking: A Game of Cones." The message a riff on the HBO series "Game of Thrones."

Another post on the department's Twitter account reads: "There is going to be another #GameofCones and it's one we shouldn't be playing."

The department is advising citizens not to fight over spots and instead call them.

"Call 911, and the Police will come out to handle the situation. Remember to share the street. Don't be a parking King Joffrey - remember: ‪#‎NoSavesies," the post reads.‬
