Philadelphia Police Cruisers Responding to Call Collide, Officers Hurt

Two police cruisers slammed into each other overnight leaving three Philadelphia Police officers hurt.

The 22nd District police officers were headed to the report of a shooting in North Philadelphia when their cruisers collided at the intersection of N 22nd Street and W Montgomery Avenue around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, said police.

Medics transported three officers to Temple University Hospital -- one officer suffered a concussion while the others complained of pain to their arms and legs, said Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small.

β€œBoth vehicles sustained heavy damage,” said Small.

One car had bad front-end damage while the other vehicle lost its wheels and wound up on the sidewalk after what appeared to be a t-bone crash.
