WATCH: Philly Police Captain Covers ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart'

Philadelphia Police Captain Sekou Kinebrew covers Bonnie Tyler’s hit 1983 song “Total Eclipse of the Heart" in a hilarious new video.

Two things were almost unavoidable leading up to Monday’s solar eclipse: warnings for people to not look directly at it without wearing special glasses and references to Bonnie Tyler’s hit 1983 song, “Total Eclipse of the Heart.” Philadelphia Police Captain Sekou Kinebrew managed to combine both in a video that you’ll find hilarious, cringe-worthy or maybe even a mixture of both.

Captain Kinebrew showed off his singing and acting chops in the two and half minute clip, which interspersed scenes from the music video, as he covered Tyler’s classic while sporting the special protective glasses and staring dramatically toward the sky. It also featured enough overdramatic posing and pained facial expressions to make the average eighties power ballad enthusiast happy.

It’s tough to say what Tyler would think of the cover though her likely reaction was best described by the Exeter Township Police Department who commented on the video.

“Bonnie Tyler would be proud...or confused. Either way, well done guys.”

Take a look at the video and decide for yourself.
