Gunman Pistol Whips, Robs Man During Home Invasion in Philly

A man was assaulted and robbed during a home invasion in Philadelphia Sunday night.

A gunman broke into a home on the 1600 block of Church Street at 8:54 p.m. Once inside, he pistol whipped a 60-year-old man and stole $60 from him, police said. He then stole a phone from a 62-year-old man who was also inside, according to investigators.

The suspect then fired one shot and fled the scene eastbound on Church Street, officials said.

The 60-year-old man was taken to Frankford Hospital. Officials have not yet revealed his condition. The 62-year-old man was not hurt during the ordeal.
