Police are investigating an alleged hit-and-run on Roosevelt Boulevard the same night a woman was killed in a separate accident on the Philadelphia road.
WATCH: Pedestrians Still Jaywalking Across Boulevard
Police say a pedestrian was struck shortly before 10 p.m. on the Boulevard near Old York Road in Hunting Park. The striking vehicle then fled the scene, according to investigators.
The victim was taken to Einstein Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Earlier Monday night, around 9 p.m., a woman was killed on the Boulevard after she was ejected from her vehicle in an accident.
Last July, two separate accidents on the Boulevard resulted in the death of a woman and three of her four children and left an 11-year-old girl in critical condition.
The accidents have brought national attention once again to the issue of pedestrian and driver safety along the 12-lane highway that is frequently referred to as one of the most dangerous roads in the country.
