Man Shot, Killed in Wilmington

A man who was struck in a shooting in Wilmington, Delaware Tuesday died from his injuries.

The victim was on the 900 block of East 17th Street Tuesday afternoon when an unidentified gunman opened fire.

The 26-year-old man was struck at least once in the chest. He was taken to Christiana Hospital where he was placed in extremely critical condition. He later died from his injuries at the hospital.

The victim's cousin, who did not want to be identified, said she is fed up with the violence in her neighborhood.

"It doesn't make sense," she said. "Our young people are dying in the street and people don't care. It's sickening." 

No arrests have been made. Police have not yet released a description of any suspects.
