A person was struck and killed by an Amtrak Acela train near Philadelphia Monday.
The incident happened at about 3:25 p.m. in Folcroft, Pa., Amtrak spokesman Steve Kulm said.
No one on the train was injured but the southbound train with 150 passengers was being held at the scene by police an hour later.
Acela trains go as fast as 110 m.p.h. in the area where the person was struck, said Kulm.
SEPTA temporarily suspended service on the R2 commuter line due to the police activity, but service has since been restored.
Kulm says Amtrak service continued at reduced speeds on two of the four tracks that pass through Folcroft.
