Pennsylvania School Board to Reinstate Superintendent Following Teacher-Sex Scandal

A western Pennsylvania school board has reinstated its superintendent after a law firm found administrators looked into reports and rumors that teachers were having sex with students.

The Levin Legal Group says administrators investigated reports of inappropriate contact and found insufficient evidence to fire Plum Borough School District Superintendent Timothy Glasspool.

Glasspool and Plum High School Principal Ryan Kociela had been placed on administrative leave after a grand jury found institutional failures to properly investigate, document and report allegations of inappropriate relationships.

The board voted 4-3 Tuesday night to reinstate Glasspool effective Monday. No vote was cast regarding Kociela.

Two teachers have been convicted of student-sex charges. A third is scheduled to plead guilty in October.

A fourth has been acquitted of charges he tried to intimidate a victim.
