Man Pleads in 2014 Shooting, Will Testify Against 2 Others

A central Pennsylvania man has pleaded guilty to third-degree murder in a shooting that left one man dead and another critically wounded.

Thirty-six-year-old Rick Cannon of Harrisburg entered the plea Thursday in an agreement with Lebanon County prosecutors that calls for him to testify against two co-defendants.

Police allege that the three went to a South Lebanon Township apartment in March 2014 to meet with two men, but a gun battle ensued that killed Marcus Antonio Ortiz and left the other man with a severe brain injury.

Twenty-nine-year-old Akeita Harden of Lebanon and 39-year-old Eddie Lee Williams Jr. are awaiting trial on homicide, aggravated assault and other charges.
