Pennsylvania Officials Stop Rare Bourbon Sale, Call it Illegal

Pennsylvania liquor regulators say they've stopped the illegal sale of a bottle of rare bourbon at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.

Officials from the state's Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement and university police seized the 750-milliliter bottle of 20-year-old Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon from a Duquesne address around 1:20 p.m. Thursday.

Officials didn't identify the alleged seller but said charges are pending.

They described the bottle of Pappy Van Winkle's Family Reserve as ``very rare and high end.''

Varieties of the Kentucky-made bourbon have sold for $130 to $1,190.
