Commuters traveling in Chester County can expect detours later this week as crews close the Route 52 Bridge (Lenape Road) over the Brandywine Creek and Birmingham Township.
Starting Wednesday morning, the stone-arch structure will be closed and detoured until 3 p.m. on Friday.
Motorists will face travel restrictions over Creek Road, Street Road and Pocopson Road due to the temporary bridge closure. Trucks weighing over 26 tons can also expect detours on Baltimore Pike (U.S. Route 1).
These closures come as a result of PennDOT’s resurfacing and repavement efforts to ensure drivers’ safety.
The resurfacing schedule is contingent on the weather.
