Police in Philadelphia say a pedestrian is dead after being struck by someone riding a scooter.
Investigators say the unidentified pedestrian was struck 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon on Wharton Street, near 17th Street. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead.
KYW-AM reports the scooter's rider stopped to render aid and no charges were filed.
Investigators say no other details were available.
