A spokesman for the state's Liquor Control Board says there's no conflict of interest here. The company that got the $175,000, Solutions 21, was the lowest bidder.

Shameful.

Not only are you (the taxpayer) footing the $175,000 bill for a better experience at your local liquor store in Pennsylvania. Guess who gets that money?

Turns out you're padding the pockets of a man who is married to one of the Liquor Control Board's top-level employees, according to the Inky. How convenient.

But there's no conflict.

Maybe the PLCB should take a look at another "let's be nicer, now" program that's not costing taxpayers a dime:

The Ritz-Carlton is training Philly's Licenses and Inspections workers (who were apparently at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to customer service) to follow the hotel company's model and motto: "We are ladies and gentlemen serving ladies and gentlemen."
