Parents Told 2-Year-Old Best Man ‘Go Fly With the Angels'

The parents of a 2-year-old Pennsylvania boy who died days after after serving as best man in his parents wedding are talking about the last moments of their son's life.

"We said we'll meet again Logan, you go fly with the angels," Christine Swidorsky Stevenson told NBC affiliate WPXI.

Logan Stevenson passed away on Monday, just two days after he gained national attention, wearing a tan pinstripe suit, as his mother held him while she walked down the aisle last Saturday in the Pittsburgh suburb of Jeannette.

"We got to hold him and tell him it was okay and tell him how much we loved him and that we would be together sometime," Sean Stevenson told the Pittsburgh station.

Christine and Sean had planned to get married in July 2014, but after they found out Logan only had weeks to live, they pushed up their wedding date so he could see them get married and be part of the family photos.

"It's just going to be hard where you don't get to pick him up and hold him anymore. You just have to go with the pictures and the memories," Grandmother Debbie Stevenson told WPXI.

Logan died of a rare blood disorder, taking his last breaths in his mother's arms.

"I'm not afraid to die. Logan has made me not afraid to die because I know he'll be waiting for me." said Sean Stevenson.

A viewing for Logan is scheduled for Thursday and Friday at the Mason-Gelder Funeral Home in Jeanette. The funeral service is planned for Saturday, exactly one week after his parent's wedding day.
