Painters Pay Up After Accidentally Spraying Cars

Company was painting Ship Bottom Water Tower at the time of the accident.

A painting mistake may have left a local company feeling blue.

Allied Painting has agreed to pay for repairs after five cars were sprayed with blue paint as they worked on Ship Bottom N.J.'s new water tower just before Memorial Day, the Press of Atlantic City reports.

The company’s owner Jim Cannon told the paper that it’s the nature of the business.

"We put on a shrink wrap tarp that surrounds the tank and if the wind is blowing substantially it creates a vacuum and paint comes out the smallest of holes,” he said.

Cannon told the Press that his company will make sure the vehicles are details and properly cleaned.
