Freshman, from Montgomery County, fell from Georgetown University dorm window

An accidental fall from a fifth-story dorm window early Tuesday left a Georgetown University freshman in the hospital.

Michelle Konkoly, a Methacton High School graduate, fell out of a window around 1:30 a.m. at the intersection of 37th and O streets in northwest Washington, DC, police said.

Konkoly, who hails from Eagleville, Pa., fell from the Village C West dorm. The collegiate swimmer was injured but conscious when emergency workers arrived, Georgetown spokeswoman Julie Bataille said.

The 18-year-old was transported to George Washington University Hospital in serious condition.

The incident was ruled an accident by police.

University officials were in touch with the student's family and would provide resources as appropriate, they said.
