Pa. Man Tries to Run Another Over…Twice

Cops say the man later showed up at the police station and demanded his own arrest.

A southwestern Pennsylvania man allegedly sparked a self-defense shooting by twice trying to run down another man who was walking his dog.

Authorities say 56-year-old Anthony Pellegrino demanded to be arrested after trying to run over the other man Sunday night in Monongahela, about 15 miles south of Pittsburgh.

Pellegrino allegedly tried to run the man over, then back up and hit the man after he missed the first time.

Police say the other man drew a gun and fired at Pellegrino's car. Investigators say Pellegrino later showed up at the police station, saying he'd been shot at and demanding to be placed in handcuffs.

Authorities say Pellegrino had previously harassed the other man.

Pellegrino is being held on $50,000 bail. It's not clear if he has an attorney.
