PHA Worker Laid To Rest; Reward Grows To Find Killer

Rodney Barnes, a Philadelphia Housing Authority worker shot on the job, was memorialized by hundreds of family and friends at the Mount Airy Church of God in Christ in West Oak Lane Saturday morning.

Barnes, 46, was shot in the head on July 25th while unloading supplies from his pick up truck parked at the Raymond Rosen Manor Development in North Philadelphia.

Barnes, a father of four and a licensed minister, died from his injuries last week.

A reward grew to $53,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the gunman who killed him.

Investigators said the shooting maybe a case of “mistaken identity.”
