A large brawl at a Ramada Inn in which shots were fired was broken up by Delaware State Police Saturday night.
Three hundred to four hundred teenagers were attending a party at the Ramada Inn on the 200 block of Chapman Road in Newark. At some point merry-making gave way to hostility, and scuffling broke out outside the motel. According to authorities, several fights were taking place in the parking lot when an unknown gunman began firing shots into the air.
No one was hit by the gunfire.
State troopers broke up the fisticuffs when they arrived around midnight, but the gunman had already fled.
