A man drowned while fishing the Schuylkill River in Exeter. Witnesses say that 38-year-old John Yerger of Exeter Township was swept away by the current.
According to witnesses, Yerger had been crossing the Schuylkill near the Scenic River Trail.
Although some portions of the flow are very shallow, the current is very strong. Witnesses saw Yerger slip and fall around 8:47 a.m. Yerger was found downstream around 10:10 a.m.
