Delaware Police Seek 2 Pickpockets

An 85-year-old thought that two men were looking for change on the floor, but they were really looking for cash in his pocket.

A Delaware man told police he was shopping for groceries at an Acme store on Centerville Road in Wilmington when his wallet was stolen.

He told investigators that as he was leaving the store, the exit was blocked by a man that appeared to be picking up change in the doorway.  The man on the floor even lifted up the victim's shopping cart, ostensibly searching for more change.

The 85-year-old victim said that he then realized a second man was standing very close behind him.

Only later did he realize that his wallet was no longer in his pocket.

Delaware Police seek the public's help in identifying the suspects.

Police described both men as black, one between 35-40 years of age, the other 40-45 years of age.  Their photos appear above.

Anyone with information about these men have been asked to contact Delaware State Police Troop 6 at 302-633-5000 extension 0.
