Arrested New Castle Woman Kicked and Spit on Officers

A Delaware woman asked state troopers to arrest her, and with a little convincing, they agreed.

Authorities charged 20-year-old Teiera J. Rider with 3 counts of offensive touching of a law enforcement officer after she kicked two troopers.

Law enforcement was called to the Super Lodge motel on West Avenue in New Castle for a report of menacing.  Once the troopers arrived on scene, Rider started cursing at them, and demanded that they arrest her.

According to the arresting officers, Rider approached them, shouting profanities and asking to be arrested.  After trying to calm her down, officers started the arrest process.  That's when Rider started assaulting the troopers, kicking them and spitting several times.

After she was taken back to the State Police Troop 2 station, she still had enough fight in her to kick another trooper.

Rider is no spitting novice - a computer record search revealed she spit on a Wilmington police officer before, in 2010.

The twenty-year-old has be enc charged with criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, and underage consumption of alcohol, in addition to the offensive touching charges.
