Swarthmore in Battle for Liquor License in Dry Town

Swarthmore College is in a court battle with local residents for an exception that would allow a liquor license in the dry town.

The school has plans for a 40-room inn and bar near the school, a plan that's been in the school's sights since the 1990s, NBC10 reports. The case is being held in the Court of Common Pleas.

Maurice Eldridge, vice president of college and community relations at Swarthmore said the establishment would bring commercial life to the area. To find out more about this story, go to PBJ.com.
