Sixers, Virtua Offer First-Ever Camden Youth Basketball Clinic

While the Philadelphia 76ers aren’t ready to provide any updates on their new Camden practice facility and team headquarters, the team and corporate partner Virtua Health did unveil plans for their “first-ever” Camden youth basketball clinic.

The three-day-clinic for 800 to 900 children, ages 10 to 14, will be held Aug. 23 to 25 at the Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center on Harrison Avenue in the city. Future clinics will be held at the Sixers’ Camden training complex, which the team expects to be completed by next summer.

Officials at Virtua and the 76ers said the Camden Youth Basketball Clinic is being designed to improve basketball skills and overall wellness for kids in Camden and other areas of South Jersey. The program will focus on physical fitness, nutrition and wellness in addition to basketball skills. Virtua’s nutrition and health experts will be guest speakers.
