It may not come as a surprise to Philadelphians, but the Reading Terminal Market has just been named one of the greatest public spaces in the country.
The 122-year-old market, located on 12th and Arch streets, was named one of the 10 Great Public Spaces this year — a designation given by the American Planning Association.
“It’s a combination of things. We look for how it serves the community and integrates into the community, if it has historic characters and what the potential financial impacts are,” said Carol Rhea, president-elect of the APA. Read the full story here
