Moody's Analytics Study: Philadelphia on Shortlist for Amazon HQ2

A new study from Moody’s Analytics ranks Philadelphia as one of the Top 10 best cities for Amazon to build its second headquarters – another example of an independent evaluation saying our city is a top contender.

Moody’s Analytics, which operates independently of the Moody’s Investors Service credit rating agency, made a data-driven attempt to answer the question: Where should Seattle-based online retail giant Amazon.com (Nasdaq: AMZN) put its second headquarters? Greater Philadelphia presents an interesting case for the e-commerce giant. It has an extensive transportation network that includes SEPTA, Interstate-95, Amtrak and Philadelphia International Airport. The city and surrounding counties include dozens of award-winning universities. And there are several city sites – the Navy Yard, which has plenty of acreage available for development, and Schuylkill Yards, the final vision of which is still moldable – that Amazon could put its stamp on.
