Jefferson, Philadelphia University Planning to Merge

Thomas Jefferson University and Philadelphia University are planning to merge.

The two universities are signing a letter of intent Thursday afternoon, which they are calling the “first major step leading to the integration of both institutions.”

The boards of trustees of both Philadelphia University and Thomas Jefferson University have voted unanimously to authorize the signing of a letter of intent to merge and create “a combination that will drive innovation in health, science, architecture, design, fashion, business and engineering.” The merger is expected to be completed this summer.
