Philadelphia Schools Can't Crack Top 25 in New Public College Rankings

A new report from The Business Journals ranks the nation's four-year public colleges, but not one regional university made it in the Top 10, or even Top 25.

The first local school on the list is the University of Delaware at No. 27. It's followed by Rutgers University (No. 30), College of New Jersey (No. 36), West Chester University (No. 109), Temple University (No. 111) and Rowan University (No. 112).

It's rare for the Philadelphia area to not dominate in similar "top university" rankings — it's got Princeton University and the University of Pennsylvania, which both usually rank in the Top 10. But this report is solely based on public colleges, and Princeton and Penn are both private institutions.
