Right as the excitement over the new Shop Rite store in South Philly's Whitman Plaza has started to wear off, another grocery operator announced Thursday it will bring a souped-up location to the Snyder Plaza.
Acme Markets, along with real estate development firm The Goldenberg Group, said Thursday it has signed a lease for 29 Snyder Ave., where Shop Rite sat before relocating to its current Whitman Plaza location at 330 W. Oregon Ave.
Acme plans to totally gut the former Shop Rite location – promising a "comfortable, inviting atmosphere" in the Snyder Ave supermarket.
