PATCO Stations Will Have Wi-Fi Access by October, Officials Say

Officials say free Wi-Fi access will soon be offered at all 13 stations along PATCO's high-speed commuter train service from southern New Jersey to Philadelphia.

PATCO General Manager John Rink announced Wednesday that the full Wi-Fi service, provided by Comcast, will be in place by early October.

Comcast subscribers will be able to gain access to the Internet by signing in with their Xfinity user IDs and passwords. Commuters without Comcast can still use the service by providing their e-mail address after accepting the terms of use.

Officials say the Wi-Fi service has already been available at many stations during testing of the system.

Rink also announced Wednesday that phone service will be available to Verizon customers on trains between stations, including within tunnels, by December or January.
